Chancellors

The honorary position of Chancellor of Staffordshire University was created when the institution was awarded university status in 1992.

The Chancellor’s role is representative, ceremonial and ambassadorial and the position has no formal powers or responsibilities in regard to the governance or management of the University.

The Chancellor presides over meetings of the Chancellor’s Forum and other appropriate meetings, receptions, functions and events either at and/or involving the University including the presentation of Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates and other academic awards.

The Lord Stafford DL FRAgS

The University's current Chancellor is The Lord Stafford DL FRAgS, who was inaugurated during the University's Centenary year celebrations in July 2014.

Pro Chancellors

In addition to the role of Chancellor, the University currently has five Pro Chancellors: Andrew Triggs Hodge, David Gage, Steve Burgin, Dr Parmjit Singh and Michael Wood (see biographies below).

The Pro Chancellor role is also representative, ceremonial and ambassadorial and the position has no formal powers or responsibilities in regard to the governance or management of the University.

The Pro Chancellors preside over meetings of the Chancellor's Forum and other appropriate meetings, receptions, functions, and events - either at and/or involving the University including the presentation of degrees, Diplomas, Certificates and other academic awards.
