Outcome 8. Quality Control and Monitoring

This Project will have both internal and external quality control and monitoring.  Internal quality control will be undertaken by the Steering Committee at its Annual Monitoring meetings at the beginning of the second and third Project year.  In addition, the Grantholder and Project Manager will undertake monitoring visits once each year and report to the Steering Committee.  Once the new Masters Programme and the Training Programme recruit students and participants and start running, the Steering Committee will organise a Student Evaluation Questionnaire at the end of each semester of the two programmes.  The results will be analysed and presented at the monitoring meeting and reported in the Final Report.

The Management Committee of the Steering Committee  are responsible for following up the decisions of the Steering Committee and ensure that activities take place according to the Workplan.

The Project will also be the subject of an external evaluation process.  An External Evaluator will monitor the progress of the Project after in the third year.  The External Evaluator will interview the contact persons in partner countries and visit a selection of partner country institutions.  The visits will involve discussions with target groups, beneficiaries of Project activities and the management of these institutions.  He will write a Monitoring Report for the Steering Committee of the Project which would be included in the relevant Technical Implementation Report.  The Monitoring Report would be very important for the Steering Committee as it will provide it with an outsider view of the progress of the Project and highlight any shortcomings together with suggestions on how they should be remedied.
