Entrepreneurship and Local Economic Development (ELED) in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia
Tempus Project No. 145061-TEMPUS-1-2008-1-UK-TEMPUS-JPHES
This Project aims to enhance the capacity of the nine consortium universities in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia and to contribute to the development of entrepreneurship and the creation of an entrepreneurial environment in their countries. This is achieved by
developing a high quality Masters Programme in Entrepreneurship and Local Economic Development in each partner country, jointly taught by staff from universities in that country;
establishing a Training Programme in Entrepreneurship for employees of those public and private sector institutions which are responsible for improving the entrepreneurial environment and culture in each country (Ministries, Municipalities and Chambers of Commerce), jointly delivered by staff of universities in that country; and
improving the human capacity of the nine institutions, especially enabling the younger members of staff to upgrade their knowledge and qualifications by spending a period of study in EU partner universities.
In parallel, the Project will support the partner country universities to transform their current study programmes to the three-cycle Bologna system together with appropriate Quality Assurance procedures and regulations (or consolidate and complete the full three-cycle system if they have already started this process).
The direct target groups of this Project are the staff of the nine partner country institutions, particularly the younger assistants, students of the new Masters Programme in Entrepreneurship and LED, and staff of ministries, municipalities, chambers of commerce participating in the Training Programme in Entrepreneurship.
The Project will develop the relationship between universities, enterprises, chambers of commerce and the relevant public sector institutions (at national or municipal level) in each country by bringing them together in the process of identifying the specific needs of the labour market and the specific training needs of public sector employees, and preparing the MA Programme and the Training Programme.
