Disabled access to buildings
All our Libraries and IT centres are fully accessible to you whatever your needs.
If you have a heart pacemaker please be aware that our security system may affect it, if in any doubt please ask a member of staff.
Thompson Library
You can enter the library by using the wheelchair llift situated at the front entrance of the Cadman building or by using the proximity card door entrance.
To obtain a proximity card you will need to fill in a form available from the Thompson Library Helpdesk or the Student Enabling centre. We can usually have a card ready for you within 24 hours on receipt of your form.
Car parking spaces for the Thompson Library and Cadman Building are available in the Cadman Courtyard car park or by the side of the Mellor Building. Access to these car parking areas is arranged through the Student Enabling centre.

Nelson Library
The main doors to access the library open automatically, with wheelchair ramps for easy access and library staff are available to help you, please telephone for assistance on 01785 353216.
Two accessible car parking spaces are situated at the bottom end of the car park by the library entance.

Law Library
The Law Library is on the ground floor of the Law Building with access through the main automatic front door which is opened by pressing a green button positoned at wheelchair height.
Accessible car parking is also available outside the Ashley Building and the Law Building.
