Wireless terms and conditions

Terms and conditions

As a user of the wireless network you are responsible for your own computer equipment used with this network connection. The University accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to your machine sustained from configuration or connection to the wireless network.

The wireless connections are only intended for authorised users of the Staffordshire University Network, all users must log in using their own individual username and password.

What are the user's responsibilities?

It is the users responsibility to:-

Install and run and up to date anti virus software package
Ensure that your operating systems is fully updated with the latest service packs and security patches 
PLEASE NOTE: The wireless network supports the 802.11b and 802.11g standards only. The bandwidth on the wireless network is shared. The more people gaining access via the access point the slower the network connection will be.

Wireless Policy
The Policy describes the standards that users are expected to observe when using University wireless facilities, and ensures that users are aware of the consequences attached to inappropriate use of the facilities.

This Policy is to ensure that the deployment of wireless networking is controlled and managed in a centralised way to provide functionality and optimum levels of service whilst maintaining network security.
