Student IT facilities
Where can I find a computer?
We have IT Learning Centres on all of the main University campuses, together with computers within the University Libraries and Flexible Learning Areas.
All student PCs have standard essential software, for which we provide full support. This includes Microsoft® Office. There may also be more specialised software for your subject installed on PCs in certain areas, just ask at the help desks for more information.
Within the IT Learning Centres, there are facilities for users with a disability, including height-adjustable desks, large screens and a range of specialised software.
Brindley IT Learning Centre, Stoke
The Brindley IT Learning Centre is located on the first floor of Bindley building, Leek Road campus at Stoke.

As well as the standard software available in all of our IT Centres, there is specialist software in Brindley Building (Leek Road) for Computing, Business and Law students
Cadman IT Centre, Stoke
The Cadman IT Learning Centre is located in the Cadman Building on College Road at the Stoke Campus. Additional computing facilities are located in clusters within the adjacent Thompson Library.

Apart from the standard software for students available in all of our IT Centres, there is specialist software in Cadman Building covering most subject areas, just ask at your nearest help desk for more information.
Octagon IT Learning Centre, Stafford
The Octagon IT Learning Centre is located on the ground floor of the Octagon building at the Stafford Campus.

KC18: 52 PCs, 1 data projector and 1 black and white mfp
K6: 20 PCs and 1 data projector
Helpdesk area 4 computers with scanners and 1 colour mfp.
Quiet study areas are also available to use they are KC9 which has 3 computers with software for users with a disability, 1 height adjustable desk, 1 black and white mfp, and laptop power and network ports.
KC13 is also a quite study area with laptop power and network ports.
In addition, PC facilities within the nearby Nelson Library are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
FCET
The Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology also have labs in The Octagon with specialist software.
