Library Collections and Archives
Our collection is so much more than books on shelves - you have access to a library collection that includes a wide range of eResources, journals, specialist and rare materials, plus DVDs and CDs.
Books
Search for specific titles or subjects using our Library Catalogue. Here you will find information about our printed books as well as our electronic books which you can read online.

DVD, Video and CD collections
An extensive collection of films, documentaries, animations and training DVDs in the Thompson and Nelson Libraries. Loan periods vary from 24 hour to two week periods.

Journals and periodicals (including newspapers)
We subscribe to a wide range of journals and periodicals in electronic and print formats. Journals and periodicals are located on level two of the Thompson library and on the ground floor of Nelson Library.

Offprints collection
Extracts of materials, such as journal articles and book chapters, which are for supplementary or additional reading, located in Thompson, Nelson and Law libraries.
Reference collection
Reference items such as handbooks, dictionaries and bibliographies are often an excellent starting place for information and can be found within all libraries.
Short Loans collection
All sites have Short Loan collections available to all University users (reference only for non-University members). Items in the collection are in very heavy demand and can only be borrowed for 24 hour periods.
Special collections
Rare books, archive materials and extensive photographic collections, Special Collections are located on level four of the Thompson Library.

Theses
The Library holds a collection of theses that have been successfully submitted by students at Staffordshire University. These are available on request for consultation within the Library. Please ask IS Customer Services.
Exam papers
Exam papers and student projects/dissertations are kept within individual Faculties. For more information please contact your Faculty Office.
