Support for University Staff

Almost regardless of your role at Staffordshire University, there’s a good chance that Information Services will be able to assist you. In fact we have a Customer Agreement (PDF, file size: 97.31KB) to help you get the most from your library and IT facilites.
We provide PCs, IT equipment, networking services, high speed Internet, Wi-Fi, email accounts, access to printers and copying facilities. Not to mention antivirus and standard business software, such as Microsoft Office, plus support for all key University business systems. And to help you work more effectively we run a programme of IT training courses, and provide access to online training and self-study materials.
We’re there to assist through comprehensive IT support and software updates - including supporting laptops and other mobile devices provided by the University as a part of your job.

And we’re the people to turn to for all issues regarding learning technologies such as video-conferencing, general teaching rooms, projection equipment, smart boards and A/V.
In addition to running the University’s libraries (we have more than 300,000 books and periodicals, as well as thousands of regularly updated electronic journals), we take care of lending, renewals and reservations. And can deliver requested documents to you within 1 to 3 working days.
For academic staff, our specialist teams can help locate specific articles, put together course packs and advise on copyright issues.
We can help assist research through specialist support and research methods training. And we can advise on Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Support for students and staff with disabilities
Information Services provides a range of services, equipment and support for disabled students and staff. This includes equipment to help individuals with visual and physical impairments, as well as specialist software for students with sight issues or Dyslexia. We have made sure that our libraries and IT centres are fully accessible to wheelchair users.
