Training for Approved Qualifications

Staffordshire University is fully committed to ensuring that all employees, irrespective of role, grade and location, are given the relevant knowledge, skills and experience to enable them to perform their work effectively and to develop their expertise and potential.

As part of this commitment the University’s Training for Approved Qualification (TFAQ) Policy allows individuals to study relevant professional qualifications to support their role and future development.

Financial assistance and support is available for identified employees, for whom development via Training for Approved Qualifications opportunities would enhance their performance and development at work.

The procedure has been adopted after consultation with the recognised Trade Unions, NAFTHE and UNISON.

The policy extends to professional study programmes offered by the SURF colleges and a reciprocal agreement is in place for college staff studying at the University.

Each Faculty/Service has a Training for Approved Qualifications Co-ordinator. These are:
