The International Office is the central reference point for international strategy and co-ordinates the University's international activities through four departments:

• International Student Centre
• International Partnerships
• International Recruitment
• Business Development Team

The Partnerships Office heads a consortium of the nine Staffordshire further education (FE) colleges, two of the Shropshire FE colleges and Staffordshire University. Its role is to develop a strategic partnership approach to the provision of higher education in FE colleges in this region. It operates as a consortium under the definition established by the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE) for England during 1999/2000 for HEFCE funded activity in FE colleges. There are other groupings operating as consortia but not all use the HEFCE definition and criteria. The consortium is managed by a board, comprising the college principals and two senior staff from the University.
