School of Sciences

Science is experiencing a huge growth in popularity as people want to know more about the world in which we live, how we can make the best use of its scarce resources and reverse the impacts left behind by past generations.  Mankind is now probing the deepest mysteries of science to learn as much as possible about the past and present, in order to approach the future with confidence.

At Staffordshire University, we too are involved in pushing forward the frontiers of knowledge and understanding in today's rapidly advancing scientific and technological world.

In 2012 we proudly moved into our £30million Science Centre in Stoke that provides state-of-the-art facilities for our students and our research.  Join us and these facilities will give you the opportunity to experience first-hand the cutting edge science that is bringing real benefits to today's society and to build your portfolio of skills for life beyond university.

Our approach is to develop a deep and clear understanding of science that you can use to tackle real world problems. All of our work emphasises our desire to offer courses and training that is relevant to current challenges and issues in science and appropriate for today’s employment market

We engage with professional societies to gain their seal of approval and have achieved accreditation and recognition of our programmes of study with:

  • Institute of Biomedical Science

  • Society of Biology (underway during 2014/15)

  • Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences

  • SkillsMark

  • Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

Whether you are hoping to develop a solution to one of today's ‘Grand Challenges', or want to make your impression in a different way, we will almost certainly have something to enthral and excite you.

Partial scholarships for PhD students are available.
