You will need certain skills to get your through your first assignments succcessfully and get the best marks you can. Why not check your current level of skills by completing these short online quizzes?

If there are areas of your skills you would like to improve there are lots of ways that we can help you. There are links within the online quizes that take you to specific areas of help. For more general help you can try the following:

  • Study Skills Centres
    Based in the Thompson Library at Stoke and the Nelson Library at Stafford the Study Skills Centres offer one-to-one sessions, workshops and tutorials to help you improve your study and academic skills.
  • Subject Librarians
    Subject Librarians provide support for each subject and can help you to find information. They can show you how to use Library information resources and recommend resources for your subject.
  • IT Help and Advice
    IT help Desks provide full support and help with any queries you may have when using our Open Access computer facilities and common software packages. Help and advice is available online, by e-mail, over the phone, or in person.
