There are lots of things which might prevent you from doing as well as you would wish in your University work. Some of these may not be related directly to your studies or your academic skills.
There are many places where you can get help and advice on a range of issues which might affect your studies. The list below will help you locate people who can help you.

Contact the Counselling Service who can offer one to one counselling in a supportive and confidential setting – Tel: 01782 294977 4/5 Winton Square, Station Road, Stoke; 01785 353302 D001 Ground Floor, Beacon Building, Stafford
Speak to your personal tutor, they are there to help you. Alternatively contact the Student Guidance Office Telephone 01782 292768 Stoke; 01785 353749. There are also Student Guidance Advisors for each Faculty-your personal tutor will know the advisor in your Faculty.
Contact the Student Health Service. Telephone 01782 747174 Federation House, Station Road, Stoke or the Harley Street Medical Centre, Hanley during the vacation, 01782 212305/212305/212066; 01785 353570 Beaconside Health Centre, Stafford.

Don’t forget that the Thomson and Nelson Libraries are open 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week. Staff are on hand to help you until 8.00 pm and
on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1.00-6.00 pm.
