Advertise Part-time/Vacation Work

About JobShop

One of the services offered by the Careers Centre, The JobShop advertises part time (term time) or vacation (up to full time) work (including summer projects) to students.

Advertise your Part time Jobs

You can publish your own vacancies on our online vacancy database, free of charge, by creating your own account.  This will enable you to:

> Create and display vacancy adverts on our website following a simple step-by-step procedure

> Monitor the success of your online adverts by seeing how many times they have been viewed

> Create additional users, allowing several people to log in to manage adverts

Alternatively, we can do this for you.  Contact us using the details at the bottom of this page, and we will discuss this option with you.

Benefits of Recruiting through JobShop

  • It's free!  Cut down on your recruitment costs!
  • Access students with a diverse set of skills
  • Students are often available evenings and weekends which may suit your business needs
  • Try before you buy - employ a student on a short business-driven project (over the summer period for example) - find out what skills and value they can add to your business.

Student Projects

Ideas for a business project could include:

  • market research for new products/services

  • marketing campaigns, or telesales

  • web development or testing

Involved in Overseas Business?

The University has many international students, most of whom have strong language skills.  Have you considered employing an international student to help develop your overseas markets?

Students can work up to 20 hours a week during term-time (we recommend no more than 16 hours) and up to full-time in the summer.  If you can identify a short project that an international student could do, please contact us using the details below.

Ideas could include:

  • market research for your overseas expansion where languages are an asset

  • marketing campaigns, or telesales to overseas countries

  • web development for overseas markets
