Regeneration Hub

Evidence of regeneration is never far from us – whether it is those enduring community-based initiatives that are inspired by local people or the flagship multi-million-pound projects that transform the physical landscape. Importantly, the large and the small, the economic and the social, are often intrinsically linked with the dual goal of economic and community well being, the prize that drives many regeneration practitioners.
 
In the Southern Staffordshire Partnership we have been keen to address regeneration in a holistic way and strive to make our communities more economically and environmentally sustainable in the longer term.
 
We have sought to adopt as wide a definition of regeneration as possible, noting firstly that towns, communities and businesses are continually going through a renewal process and, secondly, that smaller scale projects, addressing such things as community safety and skills development, are as relevant as many of the larger scale redevelopment programmes.
 
The wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise within Staffordshire University, being brought together through its Regeneration Hub, can only benefit the long-term prospects for the communities and businesses across the region.
