Our students

Ashay Patel
Sales Executive, Randox Biosciences

The great content in the modules, along with the high quality of academic staff and interesting laboratory sessions, helped deliver a very rounded experience which prepared me for a number of roles. I’m grateful for this experience as no doubt without this; I would not be where I am today.

Nikita Sinha
BSc (Hons) Applied Biomedical Science Biomedical Scientist

Studying at Staffordshire University provided me with the knowledge and skills to make my mark in the workplace. During my time at university, I discovered what I am passionate about and I chose my career based on that. Without my education and experience at Staffordshire University, I would not be where I am today!

Gavin McStay
Gavin McStayCourse Leader

Gavin's research interests focus on the roles mitochondria play in aspects of eukaryotic life, ranging from their origin, metabolism, biogenesis and role they play in cell death pathways.  These are interrogated using biochemical, molecular biology, genetic and cell biology techniques.  He incorporates these interests into classes he teaches to provide an understanding of practical techniques and also the current literature in the field.  He is also a strong supporter of scientific communications and outreach to disseminate scientific developments and knowledge to a broader audience with the goal of increasing the general support of the scientific process.
