Our education courses aim to set you up for a variety of different futures. Our Education and Early Childhood Studies undergraduate degrees will put you in the strongest position to start many child support related careers, or to study a postgraduate PGCE and become a qualified teacher. Whereas with our BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS course, you’ll graduate as a fully qualified teacher, ready to step into the world of work.
All our courses will give you access to a variety of work placements. Here you'll learn how to make a valuable education team contribution. You'll also cover areas like safeguarding which will help qualify you to work in child protection. You'll learn from professionals with direct experience. You'll also hear specialist guest speakers discuss different roles in employment. You'll learn through interactive lectures, seminars, tutorials, projects, group work and study placements.
We have a selection of PGCE courses available at a postgraduate level, which are amongst our most popular courses at the University. These courses prepare you to teach at your chosen level, and involve a mix of university input and school experience, with a close attention to your individual needs and a genuine sense of partnership with the schools we work with. What's more, you’ll leave as a qualified and practised teacher, ready to walk into a new career in teaching. We also offer subject knowledge enhancement (SKE) courses and PGCE-based Schools Direct courses.
