Our Engineering degrees will help make you 'machine-proof' by putting human creativity at the heart of your experience with us. Exciting new collaborations with art and design subjects to geography will let you explore everything from smart wearables to smart cities.

Whichever course you choose, you'll study in first-rate learning facilities from supportive staff. Here you'll develop the technical, professional, and hands-on skills necessary to solve real-world problems. Not only this, you'll enjoy our partnerships with the RAF, local industries, and overseas institutions, such as Jaguar Land Rover, Capula, KMF, Perkins Engines Company and Eurocopter.

You'll learn from researchers recognised as being international or world-class standard, of which several provide consultancy and knowledge transfer for local and national companies. With extensive business links, they bring current thinking, expertise, and innovation into their teaching. Whether it’s Biomass, medical devices, electronics, signal processing, or telecommunications, you'll have plenty to get stuck into.

This work experience may link to your course, or it could be in a broader field. Alongside your studies, it will give you the best possible mix of knowledge and practical understanding.

All our undergraduate and postgraduate courses give you valuable real-world experience to boost your employment prospects. Our MEng courses have a compulsory industrial based project.

We have partnerships with the RAF, the MoD, local industries and overseas colleges and universities. All so we can have over 1,400 off-campus students studying in the workplace, across the UK and around the world.

Work experience opportunities

Every engineering course offers an optional work placement module, which can last up to 12 months. All students get the opportunity to undertake these, which are hugely beneficial in terms of making professional connections to help your future career.
