Over the past ten years the sector has seen consistent economic growth within the UK economy and internationally.  Your chosen course will give you the opportunity to develop key industry specific skills such as creative thinking, logistics, production management, event design, problem solving and the mechanism to manage consumer experience.

Students will be given the opportunity to interact and engage with a range of festivals, visitor attractions and events from a UK, European and international perspective.  The UK has seen over 500 festivals per year with approximately 7 million festival attendees each year.

Each course has the opportunity for students to participate in an industry placement that will give them confidence for future employability.

Innovative courses have been designed to introduce and engage the next generation of industry leaders, resort managers and event producers.

Starting with front-line roles in year one, you'll progress to team leadership in year two and will be ready to apply for career opportunities with Alton Towers Resort and the wider Merlin Entertainments Group when you graduate.

Our students

Hannah Mannion
Events Manager, The Trentham Estate

I finished college with no career path in mind. Five years later, I have a First Class degree in Events Management, and I'm managing events at one of the biggest tourist destinations in Staffordshire and I owe it all to the lecturers at Staffs.

I work across all elements of events at Trentham including managing large in house events such as the summer outdoor concerts and project managing external events such as Staffs Uni Graduations. Contract writing, client liaison, contractor and supplier liaison, writing events management plans and risk assessments are all my remit. It's a mixed bag, but I love it. My degree at Staffs was the best thing I've ever done.

Greta Liaudanskaite
Tourism Management

I can see how the degree helped develop certain skills, both academic and personal, through working with other people or individually. What I liked most about my time at Staffs was the opportunities available to get involved with various events and tourist attractions.
