At Diploma level, the main feature is a work experience placement in an advice-giving agency, from which you produce an assessed portfolio. There are also core and option modules in higher level advice studies.
At Honours level, there are core modules on Management, Social Policy and Research, plus a dissertation. You can also choose options from a range of advice modules.
At all levels, there will be some opportunity to study modules online, giving wider choice and flexibility.
Where next
The advice and voluntary sectors are growing; as well as Citizens Advice Bureau, there are voluntary organisations which provide advice and support to specific client groups, such as older people and specialised agencies in areas such consumer protection, debt advice, housing advice, and immigration advice.
