What students say
"Studying for a masters degree online was a real challenge, but the delivery format gave me a unique chance to obtain a postgraduate qualification in Applied Sport & Exercise Science. There are no opportunities for postgraduate study in sport & exercise science either locally or regionally, and my desire to keep working while studying meant that the online masters from Staffs fitted my circumstances perfectly. I am sure there are many others who, like me, really want to develop their qualifications, but are constrained by the times we live in. This award has provided the solution for me. It has been a demanding but ultimately very rewarding experience and one which I would strongly recommend to others."
What it's about?
This course delivers an advanced multidisciplinary understanding of contemporary issues that apply to sport and exercise science. It is aimed at learners who wish to update their knowledge and skills for professional development.
The course offers a range of modules that integrate knowledge from the key sub-disciplines of sport and exercise science and adopts an issue based framework to achieve this goal.
The MSc incorporates a substantial piece of independent research. The course is the first in the UK in the subject area to adopt an electronic distance-learning based format. It is therefore designed to be particularly attractive to those in full time work who wish to study in a flexible manner, and who cannot access traditionally delivered MSc courses due to geographical, work-based or other constraints.
