What it’s about

The award is made up of a variety of modules related to practice nursing including physical assessment, leadership, and triage and minor illness modules, which will equip the student with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to take their practice forward.

As the course is 50% theory and 50% practice, the practice element involves working in negotiation with an experienced practice nurse mentor who will give support and direction in achieving the required learning outcomes of the programme.

What you do

You will focus on developing specialist knowledge of health issues relating to health surveillance, assessment of health and illness needs in individuals and groups.

You will develop clinical leadership skills to improve patient care and service delivery to meet current national health care drivers.

Develop evidence based practice in assessing, planning, providing and evaluating the needs of the practice population.

This will be developed through the variety of teaching and learning strategies utilised in the modules you will study, including group work, interactive lectures, action learning sets, case study discussions, presentations, and reflective practice.
