These awards will provide you with a comprehensive business education, progressing from basic disciplines, through functional areas to strategic perspectives and specialist options. You will have the opportunity to analyse and evaluate business organisations and to understand the way in which they operate. You will identify and analyse business problems and evaluate alternative solutions. This work is set against a background of the environment in which businesses operate. You will also develop a range of skills that will enable you to make a professional contribution in a variety of organisational roles.
Career prospects are excellent as your business knowledge and skills will be an asset to employers. Jobs are available within general management, as well as within specific professions such as Operations, Marketing, Accountancy and Human Resource Management. The programme is available as a top-up for students who have normally completed an HNC/D Business or ILM Diploma. However, many students gain entry via ILM, supervisory NEBBS, IM Certificate, Graduate Certificate in Management Studies (GCMS), also non-business qualifications such as HNC or HND in computing, HNC or HND in tourism and leisure etc. Transfer from the Staffordshire University BTec HNC Business to the Top-up degree is via a bridging course, offered in conjunction with the HNC award.
