What it's about
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) proposed new definition of marketing is:
'The strategic business function that creates value by stimulating, facilitating and fulfilling customer demand'...
The proposed definition places the emphasis on the needs of the customer and addresses the challenging environment in which today's marketers have to operate.
To equip marketers with the skills to address these challenges, the CIM have developed an extensive package of professional courses and Staffordshire University is pleased to offer a comprehensive range of these courses as a CIM accredited study centre.
Staffordshire University has had a long and successful relationship with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, with many lecturers actively involved as chief examiners/examiners or contributing to CIM syllabus developments.

The Professional Certificate is designed to benefit a range of marketers from:
Marketing assistants, co-ordinators and executives

What you do
The award is designed in four progressive modular units to appreciate the importance of a marketing environment and the ability to create customer value.
The units will be taught within the University year, on Monday and Thursday from 6.00 until 9.00pm at the University Business School, Leek Road, Stoke.
Semester 1
Unit 1 Marketing Essentials (assessed by 3 hour exam in two parts)
Unit 2 Assessing the Marketing Environment (assessed by one an a half hour computer based test plus slides with supporting notes on the Environment)
Semester 2
Unit 3 Marketing Information and Research (assessed by a research based project in two parts)
Unit 4 Stakeholder Marketing (assessed by a work based project)
Whilst studying, you will be a student of Staffordshire University, with all the benefits of other University students, including access to a comprehensive range of e-based and library resources to support you with your studies.
