What our students say
'Being part of the University and receiving their support has ensured the course has been a great experience. The knowledge and understanding which I have gained on the Professional Diploma course has not only given me confidence personally but has also been of immense benefit in my position of Marketing Manager'. Sue Grocott, Poole Alcock LLP, Solicitors.
'I had never considered a night course until my current employer suggested I take one to help with my duties at work. I have to say that at first the thought of attending classes for two nights a week was a little daunting, considering I had a full time job plus other commitments, but what I didn't expect was how enjoyable I found the classes. Everything was taught related to what I was doing at work so I could put everything into context which really helped with my assignments. The course was really well planned and the other students were great, particularly because we all worked in the same area so we all had something in common. However, the best thing about the course was the staff, they would do anything to help you make the most from the course and with their help it is almost impossible to fail. The course has definitely spurred me on to keep learning and I plan to start another course at the University in September'. Gemma Whalley, Newcastle College.
'I have found the course tremendously useful and enjoyable, so much so that I am thinking about studying the postgraduate course next academic year. I hugely recommend it to anyone interested in or currently in a marketing role'. Anna Woolliscroft, Plus UK Ltd.
What it's about
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) proposed new definition of marketing is:
'The strategic business function that creates value by stimulating, facilitating and fulfilling customer demand. It does this by building brands, nurturing innovation, developing relationships, creating good customer service and communicating benefits. By operating customer-centrically, marketing brings positive return on investment, satisfies shareholders and stakeholders from business and the community, and contributes to positive behavioural change and a sustainable business future'.
The definition places the emphasis on the needs of the customer and addresses the diverse and challenging environment in which today's marketers have to operate.
To equip marketers with the skills to address these challenges, the CIM have developed an extensive package of professional courses and Staffordshire University is pleased to offer a comprehensive range of these courses as a CIM accredited study centre.
