What it's about
This award has been developed in response to the NHS modernisation agenda and role redesign. The award has a strong clinical focus and is designed for nurses or allied health professionals who wish to expand their role in practice.
What you do
The award is designed to enable nurses to assess, treat and diagnose within their particular field of practice. There arethree core modules: ‘Appraising the Clinical Evidence Base for Practice Development, 'Leadership’ and either ‘Principles of Physical Assessment’‚ or ‘Mental Health Assessment of Clients’, with a range of modules appropriate to the pathway selected.

This programme enables you to acquire and demonstrate the enhanced knowledge and clinical skills in a specific area of practice. Graduates have a range of career options available to them in clinical practice.
