What it’s about
Staffordshire University is committed to providing the skills required to work in the computing games industry such as computer animation, graphic games design, games programming, games art, post-production and special effects, and technical direction.
You'll have access to a range of networked computer studios which run the latest software for computer animation, games and computer graphics as well as access to our RARE (TM) motion capture studio. Dedicated facilities are provided for computer animation, multimedia graphics, games, networks and digital post production. This course will give you the skills to become a 3D Artist, animator, or set you on the way to becoming a successful games or level designer.
Computer Games Design (Extended) is aimed at students who have not attained the grades to study BSc (Hons) Computer Games Design and mature students who wish to study BSc (Hons) Computer Games Design, but have no relevant qualifications.
This award replaces the HND and can be taken instead of any access to Higher Education course that is currently required for mature students without relevant qualifications.
What you do
Upon completion of the year 0 students have a logical and automatic route to the BSc (Hons) Computer Games Design. Students can also choose to transfer to the first year of any of the other Games course on completion of year 0.
