Part-time Courses

“My course is really flexible. I chose part-time learning as it allowed me to study for a degree and have an income at the same time. This means I will be debt-free at the end of the course. I picked Staffordshire University Law School because of its location and reputation.” - Charlie Newell, part-time LLB Law (evening study)

Not everyone can commit to full-time study, which is why almost all of our Honours degree courses can also be studied on a part-time basis. Benefits include:

  • Same course and qualification as full-time study
  • You receive the same great levels of student support
  • Flexible study fits in around family and work commitments
  • Only takes a year more
  • The part time course is cheaper than the full-time course

Entry requirements

We recognise a range of qualifications – from A levels to Access programmes, BTECs, NVQs, Modern Apprenticeships and professional awards. What’s more, we look at all your achievements, not just qualifications.

We value your work and life experience...

You may be able to use this to gain credit towards your course. We also take into account accreditation of prior experiential learning (APEL). You can use previous study or work, community or volunteer experience as credit to enable you to achieve qualifications in a shorter time.

By converting informal learning into certificated learning, APEL provides cost-effective routes to qualifications. It has potential significance for people who, through life and work experience, have gained knowledge, skills and analytical abilities that are comparable to those with a higher education award.

If you have been out of education for a long time and/or have no formal qualifications and would like some help, there are a number of routes available – our Customer Contact Centre staff will happily advise you.

How to apply

You need to complete an application form for the course of your choice. You can apply online using the Part-time application form or Postgraduate application form or complete a paper application form which can be obtained from the Faculty Office or the Customer Contact Centre.

If you have any problems finding the information you need, please contact the Customer Contact Centre.

Enrolment

Enrolment usually takes place in September, with teaching starting soon after. As some courses do vary, please check out the enrolment times for your particular course. Don’t worry, when you apply you will be given all the details so you will know where to go, at what time and on what day.
