Key features

- Complete a project with impact and relevance to your job
What it's about
This course is run in association with Learning Tree International, the UK’s leading IT training company, and allows those who are accepted on to the award and are studying Learning Tree Professional Certifications to further their studies and achieve an academic qualification.
The course is intended for graduates currently working in the computing industry or for those who have been working in computing for a considerable length of time and can demonstrate that they have graduate level professional skills.
This award is innovative in that it combines high level technical training through Learning Tree with academic research and masters level study through the University, whilst continuing with full time employment in the computing industry.
What you do
The timing of study is very flexible allowing the student to take the Learning Tree modules when convenient and to attend the thrice yearly University weeks when they are ready to do so. The academic study is in their own area of interest, often based on the Learning Tree modules, but is carried out at work or at home at their own pace.
The award consists of three levels; Certificate, Diploma and Masters The first two levels act as an entry point to the next level, but if they wish to stop then they can ‘cash in’ their credits and accept the appropriate award.
Where next
The award can take students from a vast range of IT backgrounds and from a large number of countries including Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada and Morocco and from major international organisations such as the UN and NATO.
We have students who already have doctorates doing it for continued learning and students who have no undergraduate qualifications but a vast experience who have passed their Masters and have progressed to greater things. This is also a popular award with military personnel who are in IT and looking for a qualification in the civilian sector.
