What it's about

This module is for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors.  If  you want to work within Sexual Health Services as a Contraception and Sexual Health (CASH) Nurse or within other sexual health services such as Clinic in a Box, then this module is for you as it makes up the first part of the CASH course. Please be aware that due to the nature of the course and the work of a sexual health practitioner, lay language for body parts and conditions may be used in context during some sessions.

What you do

This module can be taken in conjunction with Sexual Health – Application to Clinical Practice to make up the CASH Course or as a stand alone module.
This module will focus on the theory relating to sexual health and will include reproductive anatomy and physiology, issues relating to fertility, the main methods of contraception, sexually transmitted infections and an exploration of topics such as sexuality, safer sex, sexual history taking and care of the younger client. This module can be studied at either Level 5 or Level 6.
