IT is increasingly used to support learners and educators and there is a need for expertise in ensuring that such systems work efficiently to enhance the learning experience.
What you do
The first year of the award introduces you to a variety of IT aspects including analysis, design and development of systems, website publishing, and hardware and network elements.
The second year develops your knowledge of website design and the development of multimedia applications. In addition, you will extend your abilities in network administration and the use
of databases.
An optional one-year placement period can be integrated into your award, or alternatively, you may choose to undertake a shorter work experience module that develops your ability to apply IT solutions to learning environments.
In the final year you will concentrate on the use of IT as a strategic resource in learning environments. You will also undertake a major project that relates to learning systems. There will also be an opportunity to choose from a range of options in order to tailor your studies to your particular interests.
