What it's about

The MSc Web Multimedia is one or two year enhanced MSc depending on whether a placement is taken. The course takes graduates from Computing related disciplines who would like to extend their studies into the area of web multimedia into postgraduate studies. In deciding to join this award you will be provided with the opportunity to enhance your knowledge built up from undergraduate study and take this further into new areas such as emerging web media standards and technologies.
What you do
The award covers topics such as: web multimedia, multimedia research, mobile web and multimedia, enterprise database systems, research methods, and the opportunity to select module choices from a list of available options. In the PgC stage you study three cores and an option. For the PgD three web based topics and an option. You may also go on placement after completing the PgC. This period is particularly valuable if you wish to enhance your skills in a working environment. Frequently the work in industry drives the focus the student has in the dissertation. At the end of your award you study for your dissertation based on a web multi media based topic.

| Entry Requirements: | Normal requirements are at least a UK second class honours degree or equivalent in a related computing discipline If you do not meet the above but have significant appropriate experience, your application will be considered, provided that you satisfy the University that you are capable of responding to the challenge of postgraduate work. If your first language is not English, you will need to demonstrate that you are fluent enough to cope with the course. A minimum score of IELTS 6 or TOEFL 550 (213 computer-based) is normally required. |
