What is a Needs Assessment?

Photo of two people undertaking an assessment

It is important for you to know that it’s not an assessment of your academic achievement.

It is a discussion between you and one of our Assessors about your preferred study methods and how these relate to your chosen course of study. What we are interested in is a package of support that helps you as an individual achieve your potential.

It is also an opportunity for you to talk through any study related concerns you may have with someone who is experienced in helping students to identify the barriers to learning they may face. In addition, they can explore with you a range of appropriate strategies, support, equipment and assistive technology.

You will not be charged for your assessment. It will be paid by your funding authority.
