Social life
One thing’s for certain, whether you’re based at our Stafford, Stoke or Lichfield campuses, you’ll find no shortage of things to see and do.
The Students’ Union
Many of your adventures will no-doubt involve the Students’ Union. Not just the nights out in the various Union bars, but by joining a club or society or simply taking part in the huge choice of activities that are arranged every year.
At Staffordshire University, the Students’ Union has four superb venues and hosts many major acts and events. In September 2007, the brand new Squeeze Box juice bar was also opened for alcohol-free social space.

Welcome Week
Probably your first proper experience of Staffordshire University, Welcome Week takes place just before the main University returns to study after the summer break. It is the time to find your way around, settle in, make new friends, join in all sorts of activities – and really begin to enjoy student life.
During Welcome Week, purple-shirted Welcome Week reps (students who have come back early), will show you around, help with your bags – and give you a great introduction to student life.
Out and about
As you’d expect, Staffordshire offers a wide variety of bars and nightlife. But that’s not all. We’ve Alton Towers, the V-Festival and Trentham Gardens. Plus we’re close enough to Birmingham and Manchester for a great day out.

Choose from traditional sporting clubs such as football and rugby, or non-traditional like motor sport and lacrosse to societies reflecting all sorts of student interests from cheerleading, heavy metal to drama.
