Extenuating Circumstances

We recognise that there may be times when you are unable to meet the submission deadline for your work due to circumstances beyond your control e.g. personal illness or personal difficulties. If you find yourself in such a position you can make a claim for extenuating circumstances.
Claim forms can be collected from the Faculty/School Office or the Information Centre or downloaded (PDF, file size: 297.58KB) from the web and once completed should be handed in to the Faculty/School Office.
If you have any questions or experience difficulty in completing the form, please contact your subject tutor, the Faculty/School Office, the Students' Union Advice Centre or your Faculty Student Guidance Advisors/University Student Guidance Officers who are there to provide specialist information, as well as confidential, impartial advice.
