Faculty of Arts, Media and Design

Business School

Your Faculty have listened to you and... 

  • they are piloting online assessment submission and feedback
  • they are supporting student engagement & employability links through the Bright Futures student society
  • they are pleased to hear that 83% of Management students found their course intellectually stimulating

Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology

Listening to your feedback, your Faculty...

  • arranged extra camera practice time for Level 4 Film Tech students before their first assessment
  • are piloting audio feedback in Sem 2 and exploring other feedback methods
  • are using Digital feedback on selected modules for feedback between staff and fellow students
  • have provided a Blackboard Applied IT Award site to enable students and staff to engage in regular dialogue
  • have arranged for the Placements team to be in Stoke every Wednesday to help you with finding work placements
  • are pleased to note that 89% of final year Computing students said they could access general IT resources when they needed to

Faculty of Health

Following feedback from Social Work students, the staff have listened and...

  • learning resources for Social Work have been significantly increased and updated in all relevant library facilities
  • careers sessions have been organised to help you improve your post qualification employability prospects
  • all modules now utilise Blackboard to aid learning and teaching
  • both formative and summative feedback on your work has been within 20 working days
  • they are piloting electronic assessment feedback with a view to making this available to all Social Work students
  • the accessibility and availability of your tutors has been improved

Law School

The Law School have listened to your feedback and they have... 

  • spent £100,000 on refurbishing the Law Library during the summer 
  • introduced longer weekday opening hours in the Law Library
  • returned all assessment feedback within 4 weeks of submission
  • introduced feedback guidelines for staff to encourage consistent assessment feedback across the Faculty

Faculty of Sciences

You asked your Faculty and... 

  • the psychology tech team have supplied a dedicated PC with Skype and 'screen capture' software
  • they have developed an online booking system for the Psychology Cognitive labs
  • they have provided extra tutorials on Bayesian methods for Level 5 & 6 Forensic Science students
  • the Sciences IT team have added essential Faculty information for returning & Postgraduate students to the Hellosciences website
  • to help with clarity on when assessment feedback would be returned, they have provided dates in Handbooks or on Blackboard
  • all Psychology Blackboard module sites detail changes made in response to student feedback the previous year

Student Services

Information Services (Library and IT) are listening to your feedback and they... 

  • would like to thank you all for your comments on the furniture you would like in the new ground floor area of  the Thompson Library and Cadman Building.  Watch out for the mood boards appearing in the Cadman foyer shortly!!
