Student Guidance

- do you think you have chosen the wrong course?
- are you thinking of taking time-out or leaving your course?
- do you need advice on appeals, complaints or conduct procedures?
- do you have special/extenuating circumstances?
- do you need advice on University regulations?
Don’t panic! Lots of students need a bit of help on these and other course-related issues. That’s why we have Faculty Student Guidance Advisors here to talk to. They are based within each Faculty/School.
The Faculty Student Guidance Advisors can help you with a wide range of educational issues as well as offering specialist information and support.
Alternatively, you can talk to the University Student Guidance Officer who is based within the Information Centre at the Stoke campus and provides similar advice, guidance and information to that of the Advisors.
A drop-in service is available for initial advice and for a more in-depth issue to discuss, then please contact either the Faculty Student Guidance Advisor or Student Guidance Officer directly to book an appointment.
If you are an off campus student, please phone or email the relevant Advisor/Officer or if you are unsure, you can always email our generic inbox studentexperience@staffs.ac.uk for advice.
