A single subject Honours Degree is a traditional degree.

Ours are valued by employers, recognised by industry and designed to provide you with the skills and experience you’ll need to start making a name for yourself in the real world.

Choosing to take a Joint Honours award within the Undergraduate Modular Framework allows you to study two main subjects or areas leading to a ‘joint’ honours degree.

The intellectual range of a joint honours degree, together with the varied communicative and organisational skills acquired by combining disciplines, makes you very attractive to employers.

A joint award includes two equally-weighted subjects, such as BA(Hons) Modern History and English Literature.

Alternatively, you can study one subject as a ‘major’ and one as a ‘minor’, such as BA(Hons) Business Studies and Sociology, where Business Studies makes up approximately two-thirds of your programme of study.

Remember, studying more than one subject for your degree means you don’t necessarily have to specialise. You can keep your career options open and gain more skills.
