Events, Open days and visits – come and see us for yourself
Events at Staffordshire University
We offer a range of opportunities for you and prospective students to visit Staffordshire University, at our Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford campuses. These include hosting:
Open Days
An Open Day is the perfect way to find out more about a specific course or University – not just for students but for parents and Teachers/Advisors also. In addition, we have subject-related Open Days and Departmental Open Days for applicants - running throughout the early spring. Students still considering their options can attend these events. The following pages give you the full details on when the next Staffordshire University Open Days take place and how to register.
Staffordshire Higher Education Convention
Held in June of each year, Staffordshire University, in partnership with Keele University, hosts and manages this event which is attended by over 5000 student visitors. Often with over 100 H.E exhibitors, a range of sessions for students, and a seminar programme for teachers/advisors this is a key calendar event covering all aspects of Higher Education.
To support this event, we offer a pre –event talk “preparation for your visit to the Higher Education Convention”, and follow up visits to students schools/colleges, helping them with the next steps after attending.
This year’s event will take place on Wednesday 27 June 2012.
Teachers and Advisors Conference
The aim of the Teachers and Advisors Conference is to enable teachers and advisors from schools and colleges to meet with some of our tutors and also students with a view to deepening their understanding of who we are and what we do at Staffordshire University. In addition, the conference also provides a valuable opportunity for our tutors to become more familiar with the concerns which teachers may have about Staffordshire University and our selection process.
Our 2012 Teachers and Advisors Conference will take place on Friday 15 June 2012. To book your free place, please contact Abi Jones, 01782 292773 or email a.jones@staffs.ac.uk.
May Visit Days
UCAS Fairs offer students, teachers an parents the ideal opportunity to talk to a wide range of universities and Higher Education providers “under one roof”. The events take place throughout the UK (between March and the end of July - the UCAS events calendar is available at www.ucas.com). These Fairs are a good way to introduce students to a range of courses and information, the events enable them to ask questions directly to the providers about everything from the courses on offer, the accommodation or support available, to the nightlife and opportunities the various locations have to offer them.
