3D Design - Graduate Success
Recent 3D Design graduates have returned to Staffordshire University this month (December 2009) to display their contemporary craft work.
Mature students Lyn Cooke, Julie Linn, Pam Pettit and Debbi Silcock all graduated earlier this year.
In November, they held their first exhibition ‘Made by Hand’ – featuring jewellery, ceramics, felt and textile pieces – at Stafford’s Ancient High House.
“We’re really pleased with the positive responses to our work,” said Julie, who recently displayed her creations at contemporary metal design festival Galvanize Sheffield.
“Our tutors worked us hard but prepared us well for the real world,” she added.
Lyn, who is exhibiting her jewellery at the British Craft Trade Fair in April, also credits her success to the teaching she received at Staffordshire.
“Our course was absolutely fantastic – we didn’t want to stop – so it’s a pleasure for us to come back to Stoke and display our work.”
