Advertising and Brand Management students develop new branding for Leek
Distinctive new branding for Leek developed by Staffordshire University students has been unveiled.
Third year students from Staffordshire’s BA(Hons) Advertising and Brand Management course worked in teams to develop a brand management strategy and new creative visuals for the town.
After researching Leek and its core values, students worked on their concepts for 12 weeks before Award Leader John Delacruz and senior lecturer Paul Flemming shortlisted four teams who had each proposed a diverse approach to the rebrand.
The shortlisted teams presented their proposals to the Leek Group who selected a winning design which best highlighted the town’s heritage, history and past.
This design was then showcased at the Leek Chamber of Trade AGM last Tuesday (13/04/10) by successful students Esme Burford and Lauren Awcock, who impressed the Chamber with their winning proposal.
“We are very pleased with the images and concepts that were put forward,” said a spokesperson for the Chamber. “We will now be using this new branding and would like to thank John, his team and all of the students for the time and effort they placed in this project, which was a very professional and comprehensive approach to the rebranding and repositioning of Leek.”
