Thursday 6th May 2010 @ The Graduate

It’s not just the politicians who are hoping for a good turnout on May the 6th.

During the evening Creative Writing’s open mic night, which regularly features students studying at Staffordshire University’s Stoke campus, is taking place at The Graduate pub on Cauldon Road in Shelton.

From poetry to short stories to beatboxing to acoustic guitar to comedy sketches, there is often something for everyone who loves the art of creative writing.

“It’s always a fun night and a real social occasion,” said Paul Houghton, who organises the popular night with fellow lecturer Lisa Mansell.

Paul added: “It’s also a great opportunity for students to present their work and anyone who wants to perform in front of the mic or just watch is very welcome to come along.”

For more information about Creative Writing’s upcoming open mic nights, please call 01782 294666 and ask to speak to Paul or Lisa.
