The Young Journalist Awards 2009

Staffordshire University are helping The Sentinel newspaper to find the next generation of journalists and photojournalists.

The Young Journalist Awards 2009 are open to primary and secondary school pupils as well as college students.

Competition details are as follows:

• Prizes will be given in the age categories of under-11s, under-17s and 17-18

• Stories should be no longer than 400 words

• Stories and photographs must be about the entrants life (at home, in education or as part of a community)

• The closing date for entries is Saturday 13th February 2010

• Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to take place on Tuesday 16th March 2010
