Graduate Profile - Lauren Hatchard (Advertising & Commercial Film Production)

Advertising & Commercial Film Production graduate, Lauren Hatchard takes a breather from her hectic work schedule to talk about the OFFline Film Festival and her new production.

"I have just arrived back from my six week internship in Ireland working for a production company called 'Hello Camera' and working on the OFFline Film Festival.

It was such a fantastic experience, not only did I get my film shown (three times) but also did my first directors Q&A to a crowd of 80+ (about Hotel Bardo) and also got an interviewed for the local radio stations. First experience of the press!

When I wasn't working my socks off getting the Festival up and running, I also was simultaneously working on a 40 minute sports documentary for the Chamber of Commerce (which I have shot and edited) and they are actually FLYING ME BACK IN (all expenses covered) back to Ireland next weekend to watch it screened to 300+! They will also be selling the DVD and using it to help tourism into Birr, Ireland."

Looking back at my first year film, it is incredible to see the improvement in the production values of my later work, that with the training and discipline of the course at Staffs, made me a better filmmaker.
