Economics Courses

Economics in the Business School is a vibrant and committed community with a wide interest and experience in teaching, consultancy and research. We have developed undergraduate programmes in Economics that are vocationally relevant, preparing students for a career in economics, business or the financial sector whilst also providing the necessary basis for those who want to embark on postgraduate studies. The section has been actively involved in the development of teaching and learning within the discipline.
There is an optional work placement year available, an usual feature on economics awards that enhances the employability and experience of our students.
As well as our long-term commitment to undergraduate courses in Economics we have internationally recognised and well respected Masters, Doctorate and teacher training programmes. A Masters programme is supported by the European Commission's Socrates programme and the Doctoral programme offers prestigious scholarships supported by the Open Society Foundation. For the Doctoral scholarships and who qualifies for them, please go to the Doctoral programmes web pages.
Our Economics Awards were rated 24 out of 24 following the most recent visit of the Quality Assurance Agency
