Education

The Business School incorporates the Education provision at Staffordshire University and also hosts the  Institute for Education Policy Research (IEPR). We have recently had a number of quality acolades, such as;

• We are rated as a “Category A” (the highest rating) provider of teacher training for schools by the Teacher Training Agency based on our latest Ofsted Inspection results for PGCE courses in Business and Design & Technology with Management and Quality Assurance also awarded the highest rating of “Grade 1”.

• We are consistently placed in the top ten in the National Teacher Training League Table which is based on the Inspections results above together with the high level qualifications of our students and their success in obtaining teaching posts.

• The Masters in Educational Leadership course for serving teachers has been rated highly by Ofsted following the last inspection

• The Foundation Degree for Teaching Assistants has received a very positive report from the Quality Assurance Agency following a recent Review.

• The PGCE/Certificate in Education for the Lifelong Learning sector has been reviewed very positively and endorsed by Lifelong Learning UK for five years and the 2006 Ofsted Inspection results have placed us alongside the very best in the field.
   

The Institute for Education Policy Research has earned a national and international reputation for its work which has attracted funding from government, the ESRC and several charitable foundations. In addition, three recent successful bids worth £70,000 have been won to attach research and development funding to each of our awards to research and develop ways to improve them further.
