Strategy

The Business School is committed to maintaining a thriving research community in order to maintain the credibility of its awards, maintain the distinctive ethos of a higher education institution, provide development opportunities for our staff and support the strategic objectives of the University and schools. Its strategy is to increasingly focus research in specialist, high quality centres and institutes. Timetabled Research Allowances and research students are largely linked to these centres.

Research Institutes and Centres

The Institute for Education Policy Research (IEPR) undertakes high quality research and consultancy in the areas of educational leadership, economics of education, widening participation, educational psychology and education policy.

The Centre for Applied Business Research (CABR) provides a wide range of applied business research expertise and knowledge transfer to private and public sector clients.

The Centre for Research on Emerging Economies (CREE) undertakes research, largely economics based, on various arrears of transitional economies with a particular emphasis on the Countries of South-Eastern Europe.

We also have research expertise in the areas of Employment Law, Family Law, Human Rights, Marketing, Purchasing and Tourism.
