Adrian Low Bike Ride
Sponsored bike ride in memory of David Emery and Jack Bowyer

Professor Adrian Low, cheered by colleagues, pauses briefly at the Ruxton Technologies entrance to the Faculty at Stafford on his Lands End to John O'Groats Sponsored bike ride - 300 miles done, only 575 to go!
Adrian is using an aluminium, power assisted (batteries and chargers sponsored by West Midlands Mobile and Wireless) bicycle from Land's End to John O'Groats. He started on 12th May 2008 and hopes to promote green powered transport, showing that battery power assisted bikes can be used for long journeys.
Adrian is also road testing a wireless body sensor which is monitoring various of his biodata eg pulse, heart rate, calorific consumption etc. This can then be transferred wirelessly to the Internet and sent elsewhere. The sensor, from APCCardiovascular, has considerable potential for emergency situations when a patient's data could be streamed ahead to the receiving hospital allowing them to start to assess the patient prior to arrival and improving their treatment. Adrian hopes to show that the less athletic amongst us can do something useful for their health and have a good time while trying to get a little fitter!
