The Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology are hosting a 2 day conference on all aspects of the growing field of study that includes Massive Multiplayer On-line Games and Virtual or Persistent Worlds – from the industry, academic, technological and the individual perspective. MMOG-Fest 08
The scope of the 2 day conference is broad, encompassing the many angles of the current state of play of massive multiplayer on-line games, in all their forms.
The Conference will take place on 5th & 6th of June 2008 at Staffordshire University, Beaconside, Stafford, UK
The conference will include the Digi-Talented Student Competition
- Redesign your favourite superhero or action hero in the style of Lego
There will be papers presented covering:
Pleasures & Play
- Community – both within the game and real world
- Narrative – how storytelling has evolved for the new medium
- Negative aspects as well as the positive – real world fall out
- Is the mass market appeal a myth?
