Placements Introduction

Undertaking a placement in industry gives you a chance to use your degree skills in the real world. You will be a full time employee in a company earning a salary. Most placement companies have had students from Staffordshire University before so they know what level your skills will be at and they know that you will be worth having.
Placements are real jobs but they are also a break from the way you have been studying - you will learn skills that can't be taught at University by being in a real working environment with your colleagues rather than through taught modules.
The majority of our placements are in the UK, with many local to Staffordshire and the West Midlands, but there are others further afield in Germany or elsewhere in Europe if you are feeling adventurous.
Many students get inspiration and support for their Final Year Project on their placement which can really help with the major part of your final year study.
You should come back from your placement with new skills, new friends and hopefully money in your pocket, confidence and raring to start your final year and perhaps with a job to go to after graduation.
“ …the industrial experience builds confidence ...work hard and enjoy the placement, get involved in as much as possible”
